Visual Indication when a button is pressed in glorious core

I've been trying to press the check for updates button in order to well, check for updates. But it gives me no response, and I'm not sure if it's just because there are no updates or if the software is just bugged out. A visual indication that the button has been pressed would be nice/a pop-up saying that there are no new updates currently.
